How to Install libmapnik-dev software package in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)

libmapnik-dev software package provides C++/Python toolkit for developing GIS applications (devel), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libmapnik-dev

libmapnik-dev is installed in your system.

Make ensure the libmapnik-dev package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmapnik-dev *

You will get with libmapnik-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
